Environet review of 2015

Environet review of 2015

Japanese knotweed removal in the snow

As 2015 draws to a close, now is a good time to review our achievements over the last 12 months.

At the beginning of the year we had a recruitment drive to strengthen our team and find suitable Regional Managers for all of the key areas in England and Wales. This was followed, in the summer, by appointing Cathy Wisker and Gemma Briant to create our new Marketing department. Their initial objectives have included managing the launch of our new company website and new logo re-branding across all of our marketing collateral. Our headcount is now double what it was in January.

With our increased workforce on board we are able to cope with more jobs, from large development sites to small gardens, up and down the country. We are delighted we made the decision to grow our workforce which has had a significant impact on our turnover, now significantly up on last year.

Environet was instrumental in bringing the Japanese Knotweed Indemnity Insurance policy to market in the summer. Launched by Countrywide Legal Indemnities the insurance provides cover against the potential financial costs and physical damage caused by knotweed. It is available for any residential property where there is no known presence of knotweed, or where it has already been treated by a professional firm acceptable to the insurers. The cover is available via conveyancing solicitors and through Grafton Insurance Risk Solutions.

In the summer we launched the third version of our patented Xtract™ machine, ensuring the rapid and reliable removal of Japanese knotweed from development and construction sites. Our new machine substantially increases operational capabilities, reduces on site set up time and increases the process flow rate. ITN made a nice film of it in action.

In September we launched the Environet ‘Schools Eco-Innovation Awards’ Scheme, supported by Kevin McCloud, MBE. The scheme encourages children with dyslexia and other learning difficulties to identify a problem and suggest an innovative design solution which improves the environment. The scheme is being piloted at The Moat School, London and will be extended to other schools across the country.

On the Marketing front, we launched our new website along with a new brand identity to reflect our new fresher image. The green and pink reflects the colours of knotweed and portrays assurance, professionalism, approachability and innovation in our niche industry.

We have also attended numerous events and exhibitions to spread the knowledge of Japanese knotweed and, of course, Environet! These have included Grand Designs at Excel, London, UK Construction Week at the NEC, Birmingham, The Chartered Institute of Building Conference plus various NAEA events up and down the country.

Environet continues to develop and improve in all areas to ensure we deliver exceptional customer service to all of our clients on both residential and commercial sites. Next year promises to be yet another inspirational year for Environet as we continue to lead the fight against Britain’s most troublesome and destructive plant.

We have regional offices throughout the UK who are all fully trained and experienced in removing Japanese knotweed and are always happy to discuss any of your concerns. All of our removal work is provided with insurance backed guarantees, underwritten at Lloyd’s.

We would like to wish all of our clients a Happy Christmas and Prosperous New Year.

“We had a large stand of bamboo removed, thinned, contained and replaced. The customer service has been first class. Joe and Jason were fabulous and kept me well informed at all times”.
