Certain words or phrases are used throughout the text of our proposal documents. The following definitions are designed to assist you in understanding the terms:
 
Client - The person or legal entity with whom we enter into Contract
 
Client Representative - The person or legal entity appointed by the Client to liaise with Environet on all matters relating to the Contract
 
Contract Value - The agreed value of work including all Variations
 
Dig & Dump - The Treatment Method comprising physical excavation and consignment of infested soils to landfill, including haulage
 
Disclose - Provide information to us upon which our proposal is based that has a material affect on the Treatment Programme
 
Environet - Environet UK Ltd
 
Encroachment - Japanese knotweed rhizome extending into the subject site from adjoining properties or vice versa
 
Guarantee - Our promise to the Guarantee Beneficiary
 
Guarantee Areas - The areas of the site that are covered under the Guarantee
 
Guarantee Beneficiary - The person(s) or legal entity(ies) who have the benefit of the Guarantee
 
Guarantee Period - The specified number of years from the date of completion of the Treatment Programme that the Guarantee remains in force
 
Guarantee Restrictions - The limitations, not covered by the Guarantee, include Encroachment from adjoining sites unless the site is protected with root barrier as part of this Contract (in this case the Guarantee Area is defined at the Root Barrier position), import of new knotweed infested material to site by human activity, and deposit of new knotweed rhizome by natural means such as from watercourses
 
Ground Disturbance - Where soils and or sub-soils are physically disturbed by human activity
 
Growing Season - The time of the year that Japanese Knotweed is actively growing, typically April to November
 
Knotweed Control - Actions desired to reduce the vigour of the plant accepting re-growth may occur
 
Knotweed Eradication - Actions desired to remove or kill all Viable Rhizome with the expectation of no re-growth
 
On Site Burial - The Treatment Method comprising physical excavation and on site burial (usually within a containment cell) of infested soils
 
Permit to Dig - A document that must be signed by the Client or the Client Representative giving us permission to excavate on the subject site
 
Post Treatment Management Plan - A document that defines the precautions that should be followed upon completion of the Treatment Programme
 
Relevant Facts - Information that we rely upon to provide the Client with a suitable Treatment Programme, including but not limited to details of any previous herbicide treatment, details of any previous ground disturbance, details of any ecological site restraints such as trees with TPO status, presence of rare or protected species or habitats
 
Root Barrier - A physical barrier normally using a proprietary membrane designed to contain the lateral or vertical spread of Japanese Knotweed rhizome
 
Stockpile & Herbicide Treatment - The Treatment Method comprising physical excavation, on site stockpiling and subsequent herbicide treatment of infested soils 
 
Treatment Completion Certificate - A document usually contained within the Post Treatment Management Plan that confirms the Treatment Programme is complete
 
Treatment Programme - The method being used to control or eradicate Japanese Knotweed
 
Variations - Amendments to the Contract that affect cost or completion date of the Treatment Programme
 
Viable Rhizome - Pieces of Japanese Knotweed rhizome that have the propensity to re-grow and survive
 
Xtract™ - a method devised by Environet to remove viable knotweed rhizome from infested soil using purpose designed and patent pending technology
