Environment Industry Mag - Vol 1 Issue 08 2010 - XtractTM - the eco alternative for the immediate eradication of Japanese Knotweed
01/08/2010
Environet was recently featured on the BBC The One Show, talking about the nightmare scenarios faced by owners of land infested with the dreaded Japanese Knotweed. We spoke to Nic Seal of Environet to find out more about Xtract™, their ground breaking eco method for rapid and complete eradication of knotweed.
Sustainable Communities Mag - Vol 1 Issue 04 2009 - Garden Organic's Dr Gareth Davies takes a closer look at Japanese Knotweed
01/04/2009
JAPANESE KNOTWEED has a large and detrimental effect, both visually and on native plant species and it is listed under a schedule of the Wildlife and Countryside Act (1981), which makes it an offence to ‘plant or cause it to grow in the wild’. This immediately challenges one of the basic tenants of organic weed management, which is that it is undesirable, and probably impossible, to eradicate weeds.
Environment Industry Mag - Vol 1 Issue 02 2009 - James Macfarlane of Cornwall Council article on the management of Japanese Knotweed
01/02/2009
If one were to take many of the comments made about Japanese Knotweed literally, one could imagine that we are in a situation of Triffid like invasion. Questions such as, “How much concrete do I need to put down to stop Japanese Knotweed?” indicate a worrying lack of understanding.
Environment Industry Mag - Vol 1 Issue 01 2009 - Current methods of combating Japanese Knotweed which is present in every 10km² in the UK

In the battle for supremacy within the natural world, Alien Invasive Plants will definitely always have the upper hand. If you introduce an alien plant such as Japanese Knotweed into a new environment where it has no natural enemies it will grow to the preclusion of all native species.
Sustain Mag - Vol 10 Issue 01 2009 - Environet debates whether a sap-sucking psyllid insect could successfully bring Japanese knotweed under control
01/01/2009
Japanese knotweed, first introduced into the UK as an ornamental plant, now plagues the environment and its removal can be costly and time consuming. However, recent research into biocontrols by scientists at CABI have suggested that a sap-sucking psyllid insect (Aphalara itadori) could successfully bring Japanese knotweed under control.
