Environet’s 2024 Year in Review: Our busiest year yet!

Graphical data analysis

As we close the chapter on an incredible 2024, it’s time to reflect on what has been the busiest and most impactful year in Environet’s history. This year, we had the privilege of helping over 2,800 customers tackle invasive plant problems – from Japanese knotweed to bamboo – and provided peace of mind to hundreds more through our free plant identification service. Let’s take a look back at some of the highlights that made 2024 so special.

Making waves in the media
One of the year’s proudest moments was seeing our work featured across the media. This year we’ve tried to shed light on the growing challenges homeowners face with invasive bamboos, an issue we’ve been working tirelessly to address. An excellent piece in The Guardian opened new doors for us, leading to TV and radio appearances on ITV, Channel 5 and the BBC. Through these platforms, we were able to raise awareness about the risks of invasive plants and the steps homeowners can take to protect their properties.

A milestone moment: Nic’s retirement
2024 also marked a significant milestone for Environet as our Founder, Nic, retired in May. Over the years, Nic’s vision and leadership have been instrumental in shaping our mission and driving our success. While we will miss his guidance, we are confident in the leadership of our three remaining Directors, who are committed to carrying the torch and continuing to grow the business.

Celebrating employee ownership
Another key highlight of the year was our participation in the Employee Ownership Association (EOA) conference. As a 100% employee-owned business, we’re passionate about fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and shared success. The conference left us inspired and excited about the future possibilities that come with our EO status. We’re proud to be part of a growing movement that gives employees a true stake in the business.

Outstanding customer service
Our commitment to customer satisfaction has never been stronger. In 2024, we received an overwhelming number of 5-star reviews on Trustpilot, with customers praising our knowledgeable, friendly, and dedicated staff. These reviews are a testament to the hard work and passion our team brings to every project, and they motivate us to continue exceeding expectations in the years to come.

Recognising Staff Progression
At Environet, we’re deeply committed to the ethos of promoting from within and developing our people to take on greater responsibilities. This was particularly evident in our Contracts team in 2024, where two operatives were promoted to supervisor roles. Their hard work, dedication, and growth embody the values we strive to nurture across the company. Additionally, we’ve been actively working to develop our emerging leaders, providing them with the tools and support needed to excel in their careers. This focus on staff progression ensures we have a strong foundation of skilled and motivated individuals ready to drive the business forward.

Looking ahead to 2025
As we turn our attention to 2025, there’s much to look forward to. Exciting plans are already in the works, and we’re eager to build on the momentum of this record-breaking year. From expanding our services to exploring new innovations in invasive plant management, the future is bright for Environet.

Thank you to our customers, partners, and dedicated team members for making 2024 such a remarkable year. Here’s to an even more successful 2025!

“We had a large stand of bamboo removed, thinned, contained and replaced. The customer service has been first class. Joe and Jason were fabulous and kept me well informed at all times”.
