Wishing you all a very merry Christmas

Wishing you all a very merry Christmas

christmas_message_22

It’s been a busy and memorable year here at Environet and as Christmas approaches, we look back on an exciting twelve months which saw us help more customers than ever before tackle their invasive plant problems.

We’ve seen a significant increase in demand for bamboo removal throughout 2022 as the public catches on to the risks it can pose. In January, our work with one customer in Hampshire, involving the excavation of several tonnes of bamboo rhizome from beneath the ground floor of the home, was covered extensively in the media including on Radio 4’s Six O’Clock News and even making it as far as Germany’s daily paper, Bild! This salutary tale of what can go wrong if bamboo is left to spread, raised significant awareness of the damage it can cause and hopefully helped educate people against planting it directly into their gardens.

On a beautiful sunny day in August, you may have seen us on BBC One’s The One Show, where I was interviewed by reporter Ashley John-Baptiste about the need to check whether a property is clear of knotweed before pressing ahead with a sale. With a daily audience of around 5 million people, we were thrilled to have the opportunity to show off our survey skills and share our expertise on prime-time TV!

A new series of webinars aimed at property professionals launched in the autumn, led by myself and one of my fellow directors Mat, tackling subjects such as dealing with knotweed on construction sites and the impact it can have on residential transactions. Our Beacon Papers, a series of quarterly reports diving deep into some of the big issues around invasive plants, are reaching more people than ever before, helping guide their decision-making and cutting through the mass of misinformation out there with reliable, trustworthy advice.

I’m pleased to say our team has grown from strength to strength and we’re lucky to have welcomed 10 new people to Environet during 2022, helping us improve our service and cover more of the country than ever before. Over the coming months, they will all join the Employee Ownership Trust that owns and runs our business, meaning every member of the team has not only a stake, but a vested interest in making sure we’re the best we can be.

Against the backdrop of the current economic climate, we’re working hard to provide cost-effective solutions along with unbeatable customer service. So, nothing makes me happier than to see an incredible 99% of you rated us as “Excellent” or “Great”, giving us a TrustPilot rating of 4.9*.

Thank you so much for supporting us during 2022.

I wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy and peaceful New Year.

“We had a large stand of bamboo removed, thinned, contained and replaced. The customer service has been first class. Joe and Jason were fabulous and kept me well informed at all times”.
