Japanese knotweed for breakfast

BBC Breakfast

I’m not advocating you eat Japanese knotweed for breakfast!, after all you don’t know whether someone has sprayed some nasty chemicals on it.

But I did want to make you aware that the BBC has produced an excellent short film on Japanese knotweed which was broadcast on BBC Breakfast on Wednesday 19th November 2014. If you haven’t yet seen it, go to BBC.co.uk and type in “Knotweed” into their search bar. The film provides some very useful unbiased information on Japanese knotweed, and dispels some of the myths and horror stories that clog up the internet. Of course, it features one of the leading Japanese knotweed eradication companies. Guess which one?

Interviewed by journalist John Maguire, our MD Nic Seal explains the problems faced by those who own property affected by Japanese knotweed. From damage to property, to treatment methods, and insurance backed guarantees, learn what you need to know about Japanese knotweed in less than 4 minutes.

Following a degree in Environmental Science from the University of London and a few years spent working in engineering, I started Environet in 1996. Since then it has grown to become one of the major players in the field of invasive plants, including Japanese knotweed and bamboo. Recognised as one of the UK's leading experts in the field, I have secured patents for many innovations relating to the treatment of Japanese knotweed. “We had a large stand of bamboo removed, thinned, contained and replaced. The customer service has been first class. Joe and Jason were fabulous and kept me well informed at all times”.
